Moving the Nissan Sunny out from the garage, making space for a work station was step #1. The welcome committee sleeping on the job again, but this is where it all started! The little garage converted to a work space for all things Discovery! This space is still our little lucky charm.
In 2000, Discovery became the exclusive distributors for Sunbrella in Sri Lanka & Maldives! 25 years later, nothing works like Sunbrella! A customer in Seychelles even called it āMagic Fabricā. Sunbrella has truly been magic for Discovery and we are forever grateful for our 25 year long partnership.

Don made the move with his family from Anuradhapura to Colombo with a business idea in mind. Awnings
& Canopies! This was something he saw during his time in Stockholm, Sweden and wanted to bring the
concept to Sri Lanka.

Don Buddhika Gamage, our founder, managing director and āThe Big Bossā as the team calls him, started Discovery in 1995 and officially launched the business during the Architect Exhibition in 1996!
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. Discovery’s growth truly has been based on this quote. “The Discovery Family” has grown so much for almost 3 decades with an amazing group of people joining together, under one roof, from all parts of Sri Lanka!
Nothing says “Family Owned Business” when you see The BigĀ Boss carrying around his grandchildren aka “The Little Bosses” at work! The dream is to keep the business going on for generations, help build a beautiful community around and grow together keeping the moto in mind “Make People Happy”.
